Obviously, not everyone enjoys watching auto racing on tv. Just the same as they might not like watching hockey, golf, or tennis on tv. But watching it on tv isn't the same as watching a game or race live. I have heard people say that they felt the same about nascar as a lot of you here. But once they attended a race, they realized how much fun it could be. Along with how much skill, teamwork, and strategy it takes to win a race. Don't stereotype something just because you don't know much about it. You should try it before you knock it. If you try it and still don't like it, fine. That's an opinon you are entitled to.

Nascar has grown to become the second-most popular professional sport in terms of television ratings inside the U.S., ranking behind only the NFL. Internationally, nascar races are broadcast in over 150 countries. It holds 17 of the top 20 attended sporting events in the U.S., and has 75 million fans who purchase over $3 billion in annual licensed product sales. These fans are considered the most brand-loyal in all of sports and as a result, Fortune 500 companies sponsor Nascar more than any other governing body.

NASCAR, Sport or not?I really do not believe nascar is a sport. I mean no contact, no "scoring", and no guys getting there brains knocked out. My vote is a no that it's a sport.

NASCAR, Sport or not?I do not like it at all but i do realize its a sport but what i dont understand s how people can watch a car going around a racecar track 300 times every sunday it jus seems useless and a waste of money. I live in a rural colorado town and everybody here recognizes it as a sport but i however do not, i think its dumb stupid and will not waste my time and watch it. whats so important about it? I would rather spend my time announcing a soccer game or hockey game or even a high school football game.

NASCAR, Sport or not?Maybe not so much in the early days, but I would say that today it is definitely a sport. Pit crews, drivers and teams spend many hours in the weight room trying to get every little edge they can and save time on pit road. Drivers have to endure hours in high heat and constant g-force loading while maintaining their concentration in these adverse conditions. Look at Mark Martin, with the time he devotes to physical conditioning and try to tell me he is not an athlete.

NASCAR, Sport or not?i agree its a sport i live in kentucky so i know people that watch races to me its just boring and people making left turns after left turns yet its hard to say its not a sport when so many people follow it, watch it and attend races |

NASCAR, Sport or not?I don't think it's a sport and I think it should be removed because, number 1 sports should be fun to watch such as football or basketball and i just take driving not fun. And number 2 because in high school is there a event for a school team called racing or nascar? didn't think so.

NASCAR, Sport or not?Im not a big NASCAR fan, but what has helped me get into it is the fantasy side of it. It makes it fun to watch if ive got driver points on the line. While its not fantasy football it works for me. I do like Carl Edwards ---go Missouri boy.................
